Our 49 year old furnace was condemned by SDG&E due to a crack in the heat exchanger. I went to Yelp to find a family business that could help. I wanted a contractor that was honest, reasonably priced and family owned. Air Plus only had one review on Yelp, but they seemed to be a perfect fit. After an initial phone call to Kim we determined what I needed, the cost, and when they could come out to officially quote the job. I liked getting a solid quote before having them come out and I made sure that Kim knew I was not interested in any sales tactics for things I did not need. She let me know that they don’t operate that way. Jim showed up a few weeks later to install the new furnace. He does all the work himself. No sub-contracting. He laid out tarps on the carpet to make sure the job was done cleanly. They go above and beyond on the quality of their install. Things like lining the air intake box, new air intake grill, rebuild the plenum as needed and even patched up some poor insulation in the attic. Unfortunately for me, the furnace had an issue right out of the box. Jim replaced one part the same day, but had to come back the next day to replace the control PCA. Problem solved and we were up and running. These guys don’t try to sell you anything more than what you need. Jim even told me how to perform the annual maintenance myself to save a few bucks down the road. I know my new furnace won’t last 49 years, but either will I.
